#167155 Crazy Hooligan Attacking Everyone

Posted by Hooligan Anstian on 08 October 2018 - 01:34 PM

This wednesday 10.10.2018 one lone Hooligan in a Battlecruiser will go rampage. He will aggress everything! Red members will be headbanged and blues will feel his fist. Even neutrals are not safe.

Rumor has it he will bring a new and more shiny than before Battlecruiser to revenge any loss he might suffer. But there is a catch. Any aggressor that attacks him with anything bigger than a t1 cruiser (no faction no pirate) will calm his wrath. He will go home peacefully and will take a nap dreaming of the glorious battles he fought.

#167108 I'm a new player, im frustrated because I invested 100USD and I dont know...

Posted by Hooligan Anstian on 13 September 2018 - 12:15 PM

This is a Sandbox game with no fixed path to take. When starting as a new player you should try out and get experience with the different mechanics that are implemented in the game. When you start to know what is possible you can combine your knowledge and you can set yourself a target that you want to achieve. research and do the following things:

  • do the Career Agents missions
  • buy a scanning ship and start hacking
  • fly through low and null sec and try to survive your trips
  • get into transportation and take jobs from the contract system
  • build a reputation with a major faction
  • do the epic arc missions
  • go to the faction warfare low sec spaces and look for fights
  • try out modules like tracking disruptors, target painters and so on. Use a friend for testing
  • find out tactics that you can use in pvp.
  • fit a ship so it is very good at something specific
  • bump someone 20 km from his stargate
  • find a wormhole get in it and find out you need probes to get out again. Self destruct your pod and lose your implants
  • Try out market PvP. Set up buy and sell and try to make a profit from it.
  • and most importantly: Start Fleets in RvB, get on Mumble and talk your friends into a suicide mission.

Seriously, the best thing about eve is that you can hop on mumble, talk with your new friends and fly in super cool spaceships while doing so. RvB is the perfect place for that. Also if you plan to do an event, talk to one of the long time members of RvB and they will help you set it up. be it testing your guns or scheduling a lowsec roam.

#166915 PvP Strategies and Fits

Posted by Hooligan Anstian on 20 July 2018 - 10:57 AM

In order to survive or even win fights in EVE you have to fit your ships according to a strategy and you have to know what strategy the enemy ships are using. It is not possible to fit a ship best. Trying to do that will drive you mad. It is only possible to counter an enemy strategy with your strategy and you have to fit your ship so that it can execute your strategy. Certain combinations of modules fit to your ship are typically associated to certain strategies. I have listed those combinations and strategies below:

Fitted with: MWD, Disruptor, Nanofibres

MWD, Scram, fast, DPS

Tanky, MWD, Scram, downsized guns

Tanky, Close Range Weapons, MWD, Scram

Web, Disruptor, AB

AB, Web, Scram, speedy

MWD, Disruptor, Scram, fast

GlassCannon Long Range Weapon, Range Extenders and Damage increasing modules

Tanky Long Range Mods MWD

Ships with Remote Repairers

Fitted Weapon Disruption or Dampeners or Neutralizers or Target Painters or ECM

Special Tactics

Most ships can be fit to do several of those strategies. Some are better at one thing than others but it is not really necessary to min max everything as long as you chose the right strategy.

All you have to do now is finding out what your enemy is flying and then you will survive every fight. That’s why I always say in EVE I only die when I want to.

If you want to not only survive but also kill your enemies there is more to it than just strategies. You need to work with positioning, speed and heading of your and the enemy ship. Also you need to work with the psychology of your target.  And you need good communication skills. The abilities to multitask and to do micromanagement. And you need to be able to take risks in order to get some practice.

#166797 The Breacher

Posted by Hooligan Anstian on 05 July 2018 - 10:01 AM

The Breacher is currently among the strongest Frigates for 1vs1. It has a great combination of speed, dps application and active tank. The Tank is so strong because it uses the two strongest single tanking Modules in the game and still has enough slots to fit Afterburner Web Scram.

The Damage Application is also a lot better than you'd think on paper. 134 dps doesn't sound like much. But the Breacher is using Rockets. They hit for full damage everytime plus you can select which Damage Type you want to load. Against an Armor Tanker with a resistance hole in Explosive Damage this 134 dps becomes suddenly 1337 dps ;-)

All of this comes at a price. Flying the Breacher is probably most difficult among all the scramkite Frigates. It has hardly any Buffer. If you don't deactivate your Shield Booster when the last Cap Charge was used you don't have any Cap left for the Armor repairer and selecting the right Rockets is sometimes Rocket science. And there is also Drones you have to manage!

Still this fit is for an Alphaclone Player who wants to master the Art of Micromanagement with one of the best 1vs1 ships currently available for isk.

134 dps overheated

1467 m/s overheated

2.45k EHP Buffer plus an additional

3.65k EHP per Shield Booster loading Cycle plus an additional

2.04k EHP per Armor Repairer loading Cycle

4.3 Mio ISK for the whole Fit. A big chunck of the price comes from the stuff in the Cargo: Cap Boosters, Nanite Repair Paste and Rockets.

You can downgrade to the Compact Editions of the Webifier, Scram and Afterburner if you need more CPU.
