Tempted to get DayZ, can anyone give me an overview of what the game is actually about?

I know its a survival game but do you just collect stuff and that's it?

It is a survival game, but there is a lot more too it than going round collecting stuff. The main aim is to survive, find weapons, food, supplies, not get shot by bandits or eaten by zombies. Sound's easy but when your alone in the dark and can't see (except for a small beam of light from your torch) and you hear something behind you.... That's the name of the game!

Loving the server, found a hatchet, got unlucky with the downtime when i came back 3 zombies were out in the field on me.

Need food and blood must go on can't let the zeds win.

Server is great, needs more US players it gets dark and lonely at night.

Spot I stashed the heli at last night was not discovered, finally able to get on it was still there, not knowing when you login if the stuff you stashed is still around is great.

Logged on yesterday,camp bbq was empty.

Did we move or did the camp get raided?

Camp has been raided at least twice this week.

If a new one has been setup I don't know the location, I'm just hiding with the 1 heli we had left Tuesday evening when everyone else logged and we were near the water tower.

(have an extra GPS for the first person I come across the needs it in my backpack)

ok loadout has been added mate, logout and log back in again and you will have all the stuff you need also add [TBBQ] in front of your name as well

Server was behaving strange last night.

Was on for 1hr in the afternoon, our little camp (Chris, Egon and mine), was still there. There was one other player on the server at that time.

Logged back in around 20.30, and everything was gone (incl. all my items I carried-so was literally naked-hehe). Egon still had his stuff on him.

Then was on my way in a chopper from Col, when I disconnected. Logged back in and found myself on the ground next to a burning wreck !

Made half the way back on foot, until I found an old car, then proceeded to steal an SUV I found in the forest.

All in all a good night!

Hmm need to login and check my small camp that was near our helicopter field.

Sounds like I may be missing an SUV (hope the other hidden car is still there with the gear in it)

Server appears to be down at the moment.

We believe a hacker just gained access to our database and deleted all of the server databases - we are investigating.

All servers have been shut down until we can determine the cause of the breach, we have backups of all private hives - please standby.

Awaiting news from the server host as and when the server will be back up. Will post updates here

If I get a chance (attempting to clean the house up for the guests we have showing up this weekend) when I get on I will pick you 2 up, assuming we still have a vehicle near our camp.
