The first in what I hope may become a series. If you have seen the 80's move you will know what this is all about, if not let me clue you in real easy like. Get from A to B, via C. Now then here comes the rules.
Everyone will start with "The Starter" in a solar system. "The Starter" will wait for everyone to align and then fleet warp . If you do not land with everyone else you will get penalty points. Upon landing guns are free. The checkpoint solar system and station are only given out after "The Starter" has been destroyed. You are free to leave the starter solar system whenever you like, but you may be going in the wrong direction. You get to the checkpoint solar system and pick up an item from "Mr Checkpoint". "Mr Checkpoint" then tells you where the finish Solar System is. You get there to "Mr Finish" as fast as possible and hand in the item if you still have it.
No Shuttles, Noob ships, Covert Ops, Stealth Bombers, Black Ops, Recons, Strategic Cruisers or Faction/Pirate ships. Other T2 ships are allowed.
Points are awarded depending on where you finish and in what ship class you start in. You must finish in the same ship you start in. It can be a different ship, however, for example if you get destroyed.
The top 50% get points awarded from 100-51 descending.
The 51-75% get 20 points
The 76-100% get 10 points.
Your points finish is multiplied by what ship you compete in:-
Frigate hull x 1
Destroyer hull x 1.25
Cruiser hull x 2
Battle cruiser hull x 2.5
Battleship hull x 4
If you finish in a pod you get your base finish points divided by 5
Bonus points added after ship type bonus:-
First place + 40 points
Second place + 20 points
Third place + 10 points
Getting to the checkpoint in the ship hull you started in + 10 points Added rule
Getting to the checkpoint in any ship/pod other than the one you started in - 40/25/20/12.5/10 points depending on ship class it is meant to be, ie. 40 for BS or 12.5 for Destroyer Added rule
If you finish with the check point item handed to Mr Finish +10 points. (You can get a duplicate from anywhere if you lose yours somehow.)
Most damage dealt on "Mr Starter" after landing from the start warp + 40 points
Any killmail in the time from start to last finish where you deal the most damage + 15 points (Max bonus of + 75 points)
There may or may not be bonus items, decided on the spot, throughout the race to hand in at the finish for extra points.
You must finish in the time limit to score any points Currently standing at two hours after "Mr Starter" has been destroyed.
You must finish within 2km of "Mr Finish" to score any points.
You must finish in the same ship hull you start in or a pod. ie if you start in a hurricane you must finish in a hurricane or your pod.
You can destroy other ships in the race.
You can destroy other ships.
No destroying other racers in the Checkpoint system or the Finish system. Aggression and damage is allowed but if a killmail is generated on a racer in those systems and you are on it you are disqualified.
Aggressing "Mr Checkpoint" or "Mr Finish" is instant disqualification.
It seems complicated, but it boils down to get from A to B, pick up item Z, get to C in same ship hull and hand in item Z.

PS - I will be doing the course in the fastest route in the fastest ship beforehand (on an alt) if you finish faster than this you will get a point penalty (a truly silly race rule). Trying to weedle out jump clone shenanigans. Also if I have missed something here, overlooked anything or you want to ask questions please do pipe up.
